  • Add Alpative to Claude's connectors
  • Understand what the authorization screen is really asking
  • Connect Google Analytics, Google Ads or Search Console to your account
  • Check that everything works with a first question

1. Get your MCP address

Sign in to your Alpative console and open “My MCP”. You will find an address to copy. Unless you have a specific need, take the all-in-one: a single address gives access to every source you connect afterwards.

The recommended address

Per-tool addresses (one for Analytics, one for Google Ads and so on) exist if you prefer to keep things separate, but they multiply the connectors to manage in Claude for limited benefit.

2. Add the connector in Claude

01
Open the settingsIn Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors.
02
Add a custom connectorLook for the “Add custom connector” button at the bottom of the list of suggested connectors.
03
Paste the addressEnter the address copied in the previous step. No other field to fill in: no key, no username, no password.
04
ConfirmClaude then opens an Alpative authorization window.

3. The two clicks

The window that opens is Alpative's, not Google's or Meta's. It simply asks you to sign in, then to authorize Claude to query your Alpative account on your behalf. This is the standard mechanism of the MCP protocol, the same as when you sign in to a website with your Google account.

  • First click: you sign in to Alpative (or create your account).
  • Second click: you authorize. Claude returns to the conversation, connected.

4. Connect your sources

At this point, Claude is plugged into Alpative, but Alpative doesn't have access to anything yet. Go back to your space, under connections, and click “Connect” next to the service you want.

01
Google: Analytics and Search ConsoleA single Google authorization covers Analytics and Search Console. Sheets and Tag Manager connect separately, in two clicks each, with the same Google account. Use the Google account that actually has access to the properties you want to analyze.
02
Google AdsSeparate authorization. If you manage several accounts through a manager account, connect that one: the client accounts follow.
03
The othersMeta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft work the same way. Bing Webmaster requires a key, provided by the service itself.

5. Check that it works

Open a new conversation in Claude and ask a simple question. If the list comes back, everything is in place.

Verification question

List my Google Analytics properties available through Alpative MCP.

Then move on to a real question. This one works from the very first minute and immediately gives you something actionable:

Your first real question

On my Analytics property [my property name], compare the last 30 days to the previous 30. Give me the 5 pages that lost the most sessions, and your hypothesis for each one.

If you get stuck

SymptomMost likely cause
The connector stays “not connected”The authorization was closed before completing. Restart it from Claude's settings.
Claude says it doesn't have access to the toolThe source is not connected in your Alpative console, or your plan doesn't cover it.
The property list is emptyWrong Google account authorized, or an account without rights on the properties.
“Reconnection required” in your spaceThe authorization expired or was revoked on the provider's side. A click on “Reconnect” is enough.
