Prerequisites
Meta is stricter than Google about access. Check these three points before clicking “Connect”, otherwise the connection succeeds but no data comes back.
- A Pro or Expert Alpative plan: Meta is not one of the free connectors.
- Be an admin of the Facebook Pages you want to analyze. An editor role does not always give access to insights.
- For Instagram: have a Business or Creator account. Personal accounts expose no statistics, this is a Meta limitation, not an Alpative one.
- That Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page. This link is what makes its statistics readable.
Link an Instagram account to a Facebook Page
From Meta Business Suite or the Page settings: Settings, Linked accounts, Instagram, then connect the account. Once linked, it will appear in the list at connection time.
The connection
List my connected Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts, with their follower counts.
What you can ask
Facebook, organic side
On my Facebook Page, what are my last ten posts and which ones performed best in reach and engagement? Rank them and tell me what the best ones have in common.
Compare my Page's reach and engagement this month to last month. Does the variation come from the number of posts, their format, or something else?
Instagram: posts, reels, stories
On my Instagram account, compare the performance of my reels and my photo posts over 30 days: reach, interactions, saves. Which format brings me the most per post?
What are my three most-viewed reels this month, and how long do people watch them on average?
How are my stories doing right now: reach, replies, and at which frame do people drop off the most?
Chart the evolution of my Instagram followers over the last 28 days and put it side by side with the days I published.
Advertising, from the same connection
The Meta connection also covers your ad accounts. Without reconnecting anything, you can query your campaigns.
On my Meta ad account, which campaigns have the best cost per result over 30 days, and which ones spend without converting?
Good to know
| Point | What it means |
|---|---|
| Read-only | Alpative reads your statistics, it publishes nothing and modifies no campaign. Publishing stays in your hands. |
| Stories: 24-hour window | A story's statistics are only accessible while it is active. Past that window, Meta no longer exposes them. |
| Shifting Instagram metrics | Meta keeps evolving its indicators, for example impressions give way to reach and views. If a metric is missing, ask for the equivalent, your AI knows how to adapt. |
| Freshness | The very last hours keep moving. To compare, work on complete periods rather than on “today”. |
